Today we were visited by the most adorable juvenile seal while out with a group in White bay on Great Cumbrae. Great Cumbrae has a large population of seals that can be seen all year around. The seals here can be one of 2 species, Harbour seals also known as common seals and Grey seals. It is very rare to see the two species of seal together, however it happens here as there is so little land space for them that they are forced to put up with each other. The little guy shown above was a Harbour seal. He came within about 5 metres of us, spending over 10 minutes trying to get comfy on a rock before swimming off to an adult seal not far away.
